Crest is a macOS app made by an independent developer. This page explains what data Crest handles, the terms of using it, and how refunds work. Questions? Email hello@crestnotch.app.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Your email. When you download Crest or buy a license, we store your email address. We use it to send your license key and, occasionally, to tell you about Crest updates or new products. That's it.
• A device identifier. When you activate a Pro license, the app sends your Mac's hardware identifier so a key can be bound to your machine (this is how the 2‑Mac limit and offline activation work). It is used only for license verification.
• Payment information. Payments are handled entirely by our payment processor (NOWPayments). We never see or store your card or wallet details; we only receive a confirmation and your email so we can send your key.

What runs on your Mac (and stays there)

Crest's modules (Now Playing, Dashboard, Screen Time, Clipboard, System stats and the rest) run entirely on your Mac. Crest has no analytics, no tracking, and does not upload your activity, files, or usage.

One exception, Translation. When you use the default “Online” translation engine, the text you ask to translate is sent to a third‑party translation service to perform the translation. If you prefer text never to leave your Mac, switch the engine to “On‑device” (Settings → Integrations), which translates locally, or to your own model.

Where your data lives

Emails and license records are stored on Cloudflare (our backend) and license emails are sent via Resend. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.

Want your email removed from our list, or a copy of what we hold? Email hello@crestnotch.app and we'll take care of it.

Terms of Use

• Crest's free tier is free to download and use. Crest Pro is a one‑time purchase that unlocks the Pro modules.
• A Pro license is for your personal use and may be activated on up to 2 Macs. Please don't share, resell, or distribute your license key.
• Pro includes all future updates at no extra cost.
• Crest is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any damages arising from its use.
• We may revoke a license that is shared, resold, or obtained through a fraudulent or reversed payment.

Refund Policy

If Crest Pro isn't for you, email hello@crestnotch.app within 14 days of your purchase and we'll refund you, no hassle. Because the free tier lets you try most of the experience before buying, we ask that refund requests be made in good faith.
